To say Donna Summer had an impact on me as a kid is an understatement. I didn't even realize how much so until she passed away. Listening to those records & cassettes over & over are clearly one of the reasons I became a dj. I might not have realized it at the time but the fact that her albums all flowed together like a dj set was probably one of the main reasons I listened to them so much. The day after she died I dj'd at Natt Spil (in Madison, WI) on an absolutely perfect summer night. The windows were open & good vibes were in the air. This is pretty much a full on disco mix with a bit of my usual eclectic cuts I throw in at Natt Spil. Some of the mixes are choppy due to me chatting with people (the booth is wide open there) but overall I'm happy with the way my set ended up. I never really know what I'm going to play until the night unfolds & this was a special one. RIP Donna Summer.
